MY STORY
” They can take everything away from you, except your faith and education!” These are the powerful words instilled in me by my loving late father since I was a little girl. The combination of being the daughter of an exiled Cuban-born father and Peruvian mother who immigrated to the U.S., and all the while experiencing school as an unidentified ELL, I always felt challenged. My upbringing greatly impacted me and helped me mold my views to become the passionate educator that I am today!
I am Lizette Roman, a proud an experienced educator with over two decades in various school settings ranging from private, charter to public schools, including service as an elementary and middle school bilingual educator and MTSS coach including one of Long Island’s most ELL integrated school districts. I have had the privilege of working with diverse student demographics and socioeconomic backgrounds, building lasting relationships with students and their families.
Armed with a master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration, I currently serve as an adjunct professor for bilingual education at Stonybrook University, NY. I am also the proud founder of Educating with Love, LLC., where my mission is to support teachers in providing the best education for multilingual learners. As a passionate advocate for Multilingual Learners, I bring a wealth of expertise in bilingual education methodology, cultural understanding, and family engagement. My consulting services are dedicated to educating teachers, providing insights into second language acquisition and instructional modifications for optimal student benefit. I specialize in creating and tailoring professional development (PD) programs that empower teachers to thrive, inspire, and LOVE their bilingual students. These programs include face-to-face workshops, one-on-one coaching, online courses and webinars. I will create monthly webinars based on YOUR feedback & current research as to what you need to thrive. Apart from discussing technology and effective research based strategies, in every webinar, I provide extensive coaching on how to build relationships with your MLL/ELL students and families.
Educating with Love is a SAFE place for teachers to come together to COLLABORATE.
During each monthly virtual gathering, all members have the opportunity to share, debrief, clarify, and learn from one another. The collaboration is rich and meaningful as there are teachers from all over the country and even the world sharing their struggles as well as best practices.

I have been both a new teacher in a different state, as well as a veteran teacher who found myself in need of better resources and motivation. Based off of my years of experience and research I can confidently say I am here to help any colleague be the best version of themselves to in turn better their students.
